Dear Phil, Where do we begin. I think it is apt that I start at the beginning of my (Ian’s) journey with Syspro. I came to an interview, and I was being interviewed by one of the managers then, John Clatworthy and in pops Phil Duff. Your first question to me was “Did you fail the Psych test” to which I was not sure how to respond however you then continued with “You need to, to fit into Syspro”. I laughed, was completely at ease and knew Syspro with its great leader was the right fit for me. Steph and I have worked for Syspro for many years and this in large is testament to you and the incredible environment you have created where loyalty, fun and hard work go hand in hand. You have always had an open-door policy regardless of the worker or work involved. Your ability to bring an element of humour to any meeting, is always captivating and a rare trait to have. Hi Phil, One of my fondest memories of you was when SYSPRO was building a house and we travelled to the building site daily by bus. I sat next to you on one of those commutes and we spent the entire time talking about model ship-building - not a single word about coding. It was then that I learnt that no matter how important the product is (which is very), we must always be mindful of the people behind the product. It is no coincidence that SYSPRO has gone from strength to strength over the last 46 and that it was Phil Duff who was at the helm (not a maritime pun - I promise) for those 46 years.
